Also a member of the committee of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), Dr. Mahmoud Sa'ada, said in a press conference Sunday that the radiation produced by the Israeli reactor of Dimona has increased cancer, sterility, mental disorders and skin diseases among Palestinians in the West Bank city of al-Khalil.

Sa'ada added the Palestinian town of al-Thaheryia located near al-Khalil (Hebron) has witnessed about 200 cancer cases so far and an unprecedented mutation rate which is due to environmental pollution.

The physician also said the Dimona reactor situated in the Naqab (Negev) desert south of Israel, produces hundreds of tons of nuclear waste each year which is buried by the Zionists in Palestinian areas.

The Dimona nuclear reactor has been in operation since early 1965, and is the source of plutonium for Israeli nuclear weapons.

The Zionist regime which possesses one of the largest nuclear arsenal in the world, has more than 200 nuclear weapons.

Israel opposes the inspection visits conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) all over the world. Added to its rejection, until this very day, it has refused to sign the treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, which was signed by all Arab states.

Experts have warned that there's a regional and long-term threat in Dimona reactor, represented in the presence of nuclear bombs in the possession of a regime such as Israel - an issue that raises questions about the inspection visits in Iran as well as the UN Security Council's resolutions against the Islamic Republic, while Israel publicly admits to possessing nuclear weapons.
